MEET DR. CHARLESTIN

Dr. Jonathan Charlestin was born in Stamford, Connecticut, and relocated to Bridgeport at the age of ten. A proud alumnus of Bridgeport’s Central High School, he later pursued higher education in New York at the College of Mount Saint Vincent, where he developed a strong foundation in movement science, human anatomy, and the full spectrum of patient development from childhood through adulthood.

He went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic, where he was trained in a medicine-based approach to chiropractic care. His education emphasized an integrative model that incorporates physical therapy, nutritional supplementation, diagnostic imaging, and evidence-based modalities to ensure comprehensive and effective patient care.

Dedicated to ongoing professional growth, Dr. Charlestin has completed extensive postgraduate training in areas including impairment ratings, radiographic imaging, public health, and the treatment of auto accident injuries. His leadership and contributions to the healthcare field earned him recognition as one of Connecticut’s 100 Most Influential People of Color.

Dr. Charlestin holds active memberships in several professional organizations, including the Connecticut Chiropractic Association, where he proudly serves on the Board of Directors as the District 3 Director, and the Academy of Chiropractic. He is also a committed member of 100 Men of Color, an organization that celebrates leadership, mentorship, and community impact.

MEET DR. AMIRAH HE

Dr. Amirah He is a dedicated chiropractor serving Fairfield County, CT. Originally from Atlantic City, NJ, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus on neuroscience from Rutgers University. While initially pursuing a career in Social Science, Dr. He’s path changed dramatically in 2014 when she was diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkin Lymphoma. During her treatment, she discovered the benefits of chiropractic care in managing the musculoskeletal pain associated with cancer, inspiring her to switch her career to healthcare.
She graduated from the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic, where she received numerous accolades for her dedication and commitment to service. Now, as an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Clinical Sciences at UB, Dr. He feels privileged to share her passion for chiropractic care both in the classroom and with her patients.
Dr. He is proficient in diversified chiropractic techniques and several soft tissue therapies, including Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), myofascial release, and Stecco Fascial Manipulation (level I certified). Her personal experience with cancer, coupled with her extensive training, enables her to provide compassionate and effective care, especially for those dealing with cancer-related musculoskeletal issues.

MEET DR. FRISINA-DEYO

Dr. Frisina-Deyo—affectionately known as Dr. F by his patients and students—is originally from Upstate New York. His academic journey led him to Florida and Alabama before ultimately settling in Connecticut. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences with a Minor in Biomedical Physics, a Master’s degree in Health Education, and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Bridgeport.

Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Frisina-Deyo completed a residency and earned advanced board certification in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, dedicating his time to serving underprivileged and underserved communities in health centers across Connecticut. His passion for equitable care and clinical excellence eventually brought him to Charlestin Chiropractic Group, where he continues his mission to provide compassionate, evidence-informed chiropractic care.

Dr. Frisina-Deyo is a proud member of several national and local chiropractic organizations and has authored numerous scientific articles in the fields of Neuroscience and Chiropractic. He also serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.
