MEET DR. CHARLESTIN
Dr. Charlestin was born in Stamford, Connecticut, and relocated to Bridgeport at the age of ten. He is an alumnus of Bridgeport’s Central High School. Pursuing higher education, he moved to New York to attend the College of Mount Saint Vincent, where he gained a comprehensive understanding of movement science, human anatomy, and patient development from childhood to adulthood.
Dr. Charlestin earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic. His education there emphasized a medicine-based approach to chiropractic care, integrating physical therapy, supplements, diagnostic testing, and other modalities to provide effective patient care.
Continuing his professional development, Dr. Charlestin has engaged in postgraduate studies focusing on impairment ratings, x-rays and imaging, public health, and auto injuries. His contributions to the field have been recognized with his inclusion as one of the 100 most influential people of color in Connecticut.
Dr. Charlestin holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the Connecticut Chiropractic Association and the Academy of Chiropractic. He is also a member of 100 Men of Color.
MEET DR. AMIRAH HE
Dr. Amirah He is a dedicated chiropractor serving Fairfield County, CT. Originally from Atlantic City, NJ, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus on neuroscience from Rutgers University. While initially pursuing a career in Social Science, Dr. He’s path changed dramatically in 2014 when she was diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkin Lymphoma. During her treatment, she discovered the benefits of chiropractic care in managing the musculoskeletal pain associated with cancer, inspiring her to switch her career to healthcare.
She graduated from the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic, where she received numerous accolades for her dedication and commitment to service. Now, as an Assistant Adjunct Professor of Clinical Sciences at UB, Dr. He feels privileged to share her passion for chiropractic care both in the classroom and with her patients.
Dr. He is proficient in diversified chiropractic techniques and several soft tissue therapies, including Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), myofascial release, and Stecco Fascial Manipulation (level I certified). Her personal experience with cancer, coupled with her extensive training, enables her to provide compassionate and effective care, especially for those dealing with cancer-related musculoskeletal issues.
